What could alternative energy policy for Mongolia look like in year 2020?

Around the world energy use is getting more and more increasing. Also in Mongolia it is increasing from year to year. Beyond energy usage is increasing almost twice from today, because big users- such as Tavantolgoia and Oyutolgoi are establishing in our country. So today’s our energy source capacity isn’t enough for this usage. What should we do? Let’s talk about world tendency of energy policy.
In recently the one kind of energy that is occupying about 20% of world energy usage is “Rechargeable energy”- Wind energy, Solar-energy so on. The day went on Rechargeable energy usage is getting more and more. Example World wind energy installation is increased by 24% in 2005, 25.6% in 2006 26.6% in 2007 and 30.5% in 2009. Some countries are focusing it very emphatically such as Sweden – rechargeable energy is 40% of total energy, Belgium, Great Britain, Netherland are planning it’s usage to increase fivefold or eight times in 2020. The reason of Rechargeable energy usage increasing is alternative energy. In other words most countries are using nature-friendly technology to save the environment and nature. China started to work to decrease the emission of poisonous fumes by 30% in 30 years and world bank announced that world counties had to decrease the usage of raw charcoal.
Our country spends a lot of money for importing energy from foreign. But the demand of energy increases by 4% in decade. So our country has to make change and improve in energy policy. Alternative energy policy is the one of the best way. In Mongolia Rechargeable energy usage is increasing. Especially wind energy and solar-energy is gaining attention. As for our country, Several provinces such as Dornod, Sukhbaatar, Umnugobi, Gobialtai so on, are using wind-diesel or wind-solar-diesel joint energy source in order to provide soums that aren’t connected central energy network, with energy. However there isn’t any big Rechargeable energy park in Mongolia, Soon there are several constructions are establishing by private investment in our country such as Cleantech, Sainshand’s wind park, Newcom so on. In 2020 wind energy will be big segment of energy sector, because Wind energy is available and suitable with our country weather. But it is said that wind energy capacity has to be less than 10%. If our country produce wind energy, it will possible to export to foreign countries such as China, because China is the biggest energy user in the world. In fact next 30 year China will occupy solely 25-30% of world energy usage increasing. Another chance of using wind energy is to earn money from world carbon market. In order to do it, our country needs to make the project of fresh development mechanism, because fresh development mechanism helps the countries which contribute on the project of decreasing emission of poisonous fumes.
So I told above about one kind of energy that is used in our world. However it’s just told about energy, It is the samples of peoples’ effort to protect own earth. In other words I said that world tendency was nature-friendly technology. We also need to follow it. So alternative energy policy of Mongolia is wind energy, naturally Solar-energy is also included in it. Solar-energy is used in our country widely, but only level of household. In 2020, Solar-energy usage is increasing more than now. Nowadays Mongolian almost all Herders use solar-energy. There isn’t any household using candle. Like solar-energy, Wind energy will use our country widely in 2020. Finally our government needs to gain attention it.
